This website reports on the historic 50th anniversary Annual Conference and Meeting of the Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC), held at the University of Toronto from May 20-23, 2011 and attended by hundreds of members from coast to coast.

It’s also a preview of the complete redesign of the main CUC website that is currently in progress.

The CUC is the national association of Canada’s nearly 50 Unitarian, Universalist and Unitarian Universalist congregations. The CUC 50th Anniversary Service of Celebration

The highlight of the Canadian Unitarian Council 2011 Annual Conference and Meeting was the 50th Anniversary Service of Celebration, held at the University of Toronto’s Convocation Hall on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Over 1,150 Canadian Unitarian Universalists attended the service, exceeding all expectations and making this the largest gathering of Canadian UUs ever held. Rev. Shawn Newton of First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto led the service, on the theme “Trust the Dawning Future.” Toronto First's choir director Dallas Bergen led a choir of over 100 voices. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Host Committee members, volunteers and staff, the service was webcast live across Canada, and recorded and edited for those who were not able to attend in person.
